The 1.2 mile swim distance will take you .6 miles out from Lake Gardner Beach to a turn around buoy right before Battis Farm. Endurance swimmers completing the 2.4 mile swim will complete this out and back course, twice.
Swim + Run Details: Athletes will begin with a .6 swim out to Battis Farm to the swim exit. There you will immediately begin a 1.5 mile (approximate) trail run back to the finish at Lake Gardner. Shoes are required, as a portion of it is a rooty trail. Most of you will wear your shoes during the swim, but if you don’t, you can drop your shoes off at registration so an event staff can bring your shoes out to your swim exit. The only items you’re allowed to have at the transition point are: sneakers, a towel and hydration and it must be in a bag. Event staff will bring all of your belongings back to the finish for you. There will be water available for you at transition.
Race Ages: Participants must be at least 12 years old to participate in this open water swim. Anyone 18 and under will require a parent/guardian signature to participate.
No snorkels, floaties, fins or hand paddles are allowed.
Event Swag: All athletes registered by 6/1 will receive a custom event t-shirt. All swimmers will receive a custom latex swim cap. If you are allergic to latex please bring your own.
Post Event: You will have several packaged food items to choose from. Hot and iced coffee will be available for swimmers. For those of you who would like a cold beer after your swim, that will be available to you. You’ll get 1 free beer and it’ll be $5/beer after that. We encourage you to head down town Amesbury where there are several restaurants, bars, cafes and boutique shops that are worth checking out.
